So did you hear that friendster migrated from JSP to PHP ? Of course you have. A decent summary of all the pontification on this is here. The best thing I’ve read to date is The Scalability Holy Grail, which lists some Common Stupid Mistakes that lead to poor web application performance.
It would be cool if a group of geeks could get a peek at the friendster JSP code; I’d love to find out what the problems were. I’m assuming, of course, that the problem isn’t that Java doesn’t scale. Too bad that’ll never happen.
